This captain was known for his compassion and generosity, also shown to those he had captured in his raids. The pirate captain was only 28 years old at the time of his death in 1717. His well-known career as a pirate captain lasted just over a year, but in that short time, this captain and his crew would at least occupy 53 ships. This was an incredible number of ships at the time.
The ship was then carried by a very important person – the notorious Black Sam Bellamy, also known as “Robin Hood of the Sea”. Some historians estimated his piracy at nearly $ 120 million, making him one of the richest pirates in history.
Would the wreck of a ship from 1717 still contain all its treasures? Or would they have been carried by currents and storms over the ocean floor, never to be seen again?
