Writings on stones Provincial Park / Áísínai’pi, Canada
Writing-on-Stone Provincial Park is located in Alberta, on the border between Canada and the United States. It contains a concentration of columns carved by erosion called fairy chimneys (hoodoos), as well as many artistic reproductions such as pictographs or petroglyphs. The site is also known as Áísínai’pi, which in Blackfoot means “it is drawn where it is written”. The majority of the images represent animals, objects, but also human silhouettes.
